The Texas Surgical Society has no headquarters, no employees, no real estate and no event planners. The functioning of the Society is in the hands of the members, most of whom are still actively practicing. Most of the day-to-day management of Society affairs is done by the Society Secretary; the Secretary has a huge job requiring many hours. Meeting arrangements are in the hands of a Local Arrangement Chairman and the local hosts. If you enjoy the meetings, remember to thank the LAC.
